Reading Bridge club - lessons for beginners.

Created by Joan one year ago
Well into my 50's I decided to learn how to play bridge and went off to Reading Bridge Club where Nigel was giving lessons. My first lesson involved a Jospehine 5nt bid which I have never forgotten !! At that time some of the British team all came to play with the beginners. My first week I got 83% (with Vlad)and the relults were posted with great delight but in my innocence I thought that one side should get 100%! The following week was even better with 87% and results were posted even the gents loo more to annoy Nigel as it was higher than his score, than in glory of his teaching. May I say I have been in a severe decline ever since and wonder why I ever bothered to learn any conventions. Nigel came to a charity even I hosted about three hours late but happily chatted to all. I took him to Chichester to catch up with a mutual old friend and had many hours of bridge lessons stuck in traffic!  It seemed only like a few months ago that I saw Nige1 playing on BBO. Thank you Nigel for introducing me to Bridge which has played a big part in my life. Rest in Peace.
